The information presented on the NSW Nearshore Wave Transformation website you are about to enter is based on modelled transformation of offshore wave conditions to the nearshore. The models used have undergone limited validation against actual nearshore data. As such, the results presented should be treated with caution and may differ from actual conditions experienced at some locations. As more and more specific locations are investigated in detail in the future, the reliability and forms of information presented will continue to improve.
It is further noted we cannot guarantee the timeliness or accuracy of the results or figures. MHL accepts no responsibility or liability for use or misuse of any of the results or data contained on this website.
Historical wave data has been recovered directly from automatic recording equipment under the NSW Coastal Data Network Program managed by Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), and has not yet been quality controlled by MHL. Forecast wave data is taken from NOAA WW3 global forecasts.

The NSW Nearshore Wave Transformation website is a beta version and may not perform to the full capability of the planned final version. Note that functionality may change without notice. The website contains a lot of data. Please be patient, particularly for slow internet connections.
